Last Saturday, I went to my friend's wedding. He's one of my best friends from the university. The wedding party started at 7.00pm but I came a bit earlier hoping to see friends that I haven't met for a long time.
For some reasons, some friends couldn't come but there were 10 of us, enough to make a table. We were at the same class at the university (HCM Open University) but now we have different jobs. Most of them are businessmen and they have their own business, some work at a press company as IT technicians, others are marketing for different companies and me - I work at a school as an assistant.
Time flies so fast, it's been 13 years since the day we said goodbye. We don't meet very often - what a busy life.
We are planning to meet again soon. It was so good to see friends.
"See you later guys. Have a safe drive!"

Coffee at the weekends
One of my favourite things to do at the weekends is to go out for coffee with friends and I always drink "Ca phe sua da" (coffee with condensed milk and ice).
In Vietnam, we use filters to make coffee because the coffee is very strong and that is the way we like to drink it. There are four stages to make good coffee. First, we put condensed milk into a cup and place the cup under the coffee filter. Next, we put about two spoons of coffee into the coffee filter and then pour hot water inside the coffee filter. Now it's the time for you just to watch the coffee dripping from the coffe filtter into the cup, which is a part I like best.
After the coffee stops dripping we will see two layers, condensed milk on the bottom and coffee on the top. We stir the coffee and milk together, now in the cup you will see a brown good smelling coffee. The last step is to pour the coffee into a cup with ice cubes..... I can't wait to drink it and enjoy.

Weekend at Vung Tau
Last Friday, I got a phone call from my friend at 9 o'clock asking me if I would like to go to Vung Tau for the weekend. Fortunately I have no plans for the weekend then of course the answer was a big "yes".
We departed at 8 o'clock on Saturday.
There were five adults , they are my friends from the company I worked in before, and two childen.
We travelled in our own car, so we didn't have to hurry. So we stopped for breakfast and coffee at a small restaurant in a newly built building, we talked about the plans when we arrive Vung Tau. Some of them will go straight to the beach, some will play cards and I said "eat and sleep first!" Don't worry guys, it's the weekend!
The ferry is not far from where we had breakfast, it takes a bout 5 minutes to go from this side to the other side of the river but we had to wait for about half an hour to get on the ferry. It's always busy at the weekend.
At last, after 3 and a half hours we arrived Vung Tau. It was not so sunny on that day.
Later, at 3.30, we went for a snack. People would like to eat a special food at Vung Tau is Banh khot. This is made by rice flour and shrimp and is eaten with sweet fish sauce.

Tet Nham Thin (Luna new Year- Year of the Dragon)
Cooking "Banh Tet" - Traditional cake for Tet
This year, Tet was on 23rd January 2012, just two days after I finished work. I missed the chance to make Banh Tet, thing I normally do every year. It's just because my borther family came back from Australia to join Tet, everyone was so excited, they couldn't wait to make Banh Tet - it's made of sticky rice, inside is green bean and pork. Anyway, I had a chance to to take Banh Tet out.
